Conference 2.0: Alphonse Vinh’s Speech

Dated: July 10, 2025 admin

At last year’s two-day Texas conference, Alphonse-Louis Vinh — former Fellow of Berkeley College, Yale University; former Professor at the Catholic University of America; and host of the Abbeville Institute Book Club —  gave a presentation on Southern writer Flannery O’Connor, a traditional Catholic herself. He discussed the influence of her roots and how O’Connor’s Georgia upbringing shaped her little-o orthodox and thoroughly Southern stories, which always revealed how God works in human nature.
