Friends: November 11th marked the 4th anniversary of the Fellowship’s official launch as a missionary organization aimed at “nurturing the roots of Orthodoxy in Dixie’s Land.” Can you believe it?
In addition to “promoting the enculturation of the Orthodox faith into the South’s unique ethos and ‘older religiousness'” through providing quality content on both SouthernOrthodox.org and YouTube channel, we now have three conferences under our collective belt, with our 3rd Annual gathering being our largest and most successful yet. For next year’s event, we have tentatively settled on either September 12 or 19, 2026, and are open to ideas, so please send us your suggestions, whether that be hospitable locations, themes, or potential speakers.
And for more good news: after several years’ operating as an unincorporated association, we are happy to report that the Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship is moving forward with formal incorporation and filing for formal tax exemption as a tax-exempt religious nonprofit organization. Glory to God!
Moreover, we have received an incredibly generous offer of matching funds for contributions toward the initial cost of incorporation and tax exemption! All contributions after the date of incorporation, December 4, 2025, will be tax deductible assuming we achieve tax exemption which is expected in 2026. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation before the end of this year to get us over the top and to help undergird and grow the Fellowship’s ongoing activities.
Any and all one-time or recurring donations, no matter how large or small, are so very appreciated. Giving can be done online through PayPal; or by check, paid to the order of “Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship,” and mailed to: Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship, 10636 Catharpin Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22551.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you are aware that something significant is happening in the religious scene. Large numbers of Americans in all walks of life are discovering Orthodoxy! Indeed, with every video posted by people of other confessions warning them not to look into the Orthodox Church, our parishes draw in yet another wave of inquirers.
At the Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship, we believe that Dixie, with its distinctive culture, historical awareness, and respect for tradition holds a unique place in this truly historic development. Especially for those of us with Southern roots, we can’t help but feel that Orthodoxy is the answer to the prayers of our non-Orthodox ancestors who persevered through revolution, war, and civil strife in the hopes of finding a safe harbor.
The Orthodox Church is that harbor. Working together with you, we at the Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship are dedicated to making the South and America Orthodox!
We thank y’all for your prayers and support, both monetary and non-monetary. May God continue to grant an increase of the True Faith amongst our Christ-haunted people and to foster authentic neighborly love for all those who call the Southland their home.
Sincerely, The Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship
